Counsellor (Salaried)
Permanent Part-time (.4 FTE or .6 FTE, 2 to 3 days per week – 15–22.5 hours)

Shalom Counselling Services is a not-for-profit community counselling agency that has been providing counselling services in Waterloo Region since 1983.

This position is part of a counselling team of therapists who provide counselling services and consultation in the context of a diverse and multi-faith community. As a spiritually integrated counselling agency we honour and respect the diversity of persons, backgrounds and beliefs within our community.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A Master’s of Social Work degree
- Accreditation with the Ontario College of Social Workers (OCSWSSW)
- A complementary fit with the mission and vision of Shalom Counselling
- Advanced clinical skills complemented by broad clinical experience—competence in individual, couple, family, and group counselling with clients from age 16 years to adult (5+ years of experience)
Employment Conditions:
The successful candidate will be offered a permanent position with the agency.
Compensation is based on the agency salary grid and considers years of experience. At .4 FTE the salary range is $29,000 to $31,000. At .6 FTE the salary range is $43,500 to 46,500. Compensation also includes participation in a matching pension plan for both the 0.4 FTE and 0.6 FTE roles; the 0.6 FTE role also includes extended health benefits. This position starts with 4 weeks of vacation if the candidate has 5 years experience.
