10,000 Steps for Mental Health

THANK YOU!

On September 21, 2024, on a sunny morning, 107 runners, walkers, and rollers came out to support Shalom Counselling Services. Kitchener Center MP Mike Morrice, Waterloo Riding MPP Catherine Fife, Ward 7 Councillor Julie Wright and Waterloo Mayor Dorothy McCabe were at the send off. Thanks to your support 10,000 Steps for Mental Health was able to raise $56,211!  With these funds, we can provide 365 fully funded counselling sessions, equivalent to one session every day for the next year. This allows us to offer crucial and affordable support to those seeking mental health counselling.

Thank you again for your generosity. Your commitment helps us to live into our mission to “provide inclusive and accessible counselling services, supporting people to grow towards peace and wholeness.”

New Logo

For our tenth annual 10,000 Steps for Mental Health (September 20, 2025) we will be using a new logo as revealed this year. The artist, Cassidy Hicks, shared her vision behind it: “When I made this logo, I wanted to reflect the vibrant and overlapping stories of clients, therapists, and donors that come together to make up Shalom. The mosaic of stories, care, and healing that happen here is something to be celebrated, and it's only made possible by events like 10,000 Steps. I wanted to emphasize the joy that can come from healing and growth, and the bright energy fundraisers generously offer to make that healing possible.”
